What Does This Mean?
It means you need a set of realistic action steps that will help you reach your goal of being able to play the guitar with accuracy and fluency. When you break practice time down into manageable chunks that are geared towards the type of player you want to be, everything becomes much easier. This will be reflected in your weekly practice routine that will be written for you at the end of every lesson.
Whether you're trying to strum chords to your favourite songs in your bedroom, sing a few songs at your local open mic night, play acoustic guitar like Ed Sheeran or learn to write your own guitar solos, you're going to be much better off having someone there to guide you who has already taken people from where you are now and turned them into great guitar players.
Of course, it's easy to get sucked down the YouTube rabbit hole and become overwhelmed but trying to become great at guitar using something as vast as YouTube could take a long time. With guitar lessons, you get feedback every step of the way, as your teacher carefully and precisely provides you with the direction needed maximise your progress without having to sit through another 15 minute video.

Who These Lessons Are Not For

Some of these points may sound harsh but honesty is important in the relationship between teacher and student, your teacher is the one holding you accountable after all. Learning to play the guitar isn't something that you can do overnight. If it was, the chances are you wouldn't be reading this page right now, you know that it's something worth having in your life. There is a very specific mindset you need to adopt if you want to reach your goals and succeed in playing your favourite songs and there are very specific approaches that will get you there quickly. Here are some reasons you might not want to take lessons:
It's not the right time
If you're at a stage in life where you simply feel the time isn't right, then wait until it is before you decide to commit. That way, when you finally go ahead with it, you'll feel all the more ready.

You don't have the time
For beginner players, I recommend 15 minutes practice per day, five days per week plus your weekly lesson. If this time isn't available to you then you'd be better off saving your money until you can confidently put that regular time aside to become the guitarist you've always dreamed of.

The cost is an issue
Here's a difficult truth for some but I want to be as upfront as possible. You're much better off investing in a good teacher that will ease your frustration so that you can feel motivated to continue on your guitar journey than settling for less because it's cheaper. After all, you get what you pay for.
Who These Lessons Are For
Here are some of the reasons you might be ready for lessons

You want high quality lessons
If you want high quality guitar lessons and you have the budget, then these lessons are for you. Having a reliable teacher who provides you with the tools to succeed will ensure you go from frustration to jubilation!

What CGA Students Are Saying
“My guitar playing, improvisation, melody making, music theory knowledge and confidence have increased tenfold after these tutorials and lessons. After 20 years of being stuck playing Wonderwall on guitar, the fretboard has opened up for me, and I now instead create my own riffs and melodies” - Ole Alfheim (Online Student)

"Aaron has the class prepared before hand and is super patient. He pays a lot of attention to my hand movements and has an extra camera so you can watch his, which is really cool! We always have fun and he encourages you to keep the good work 🙂" - Angélica Tapia (Online Student)

"Aaron is a fantastic player and I would recommend Aaron as a great teacher with so much knowledge, its so refreshing to have someone explain the technicalities of the guitar 🎸 I'm loving it !!! Thanks Aaron 😊" Tim Hocking (Bath, UK)

"I wanted to get better at playing electric guitar for covers and improvisation, with a bit more sophistication, in a village band. Aaron has introduced just the right amount of relevant music theory and technique to complement what I've picked up over the years. I'm now playing basic but passable (to me) blues solos over a better understanding of the theory, with more confidence up the frets". - Tim Watts (Bath, UK)

"I found Aaron to be knowledgeable, experienced, friendly and ever patient as a music teacher. In a few sessions he enabled me to understand concepts I hadn't previously grasped in nearly two decades of guitar playing, which strengthened my ability to come up with my own tunes" - Daniel Absolon (Bath, UK)

"Rory had been having lessons but was very uninspired and not feeling like he was making any progress. Then we were introduced to Aaron and how things changed! His passion is back and every week he is learning something new. Online lessons are well structured and planned, as is the “homework” each week. Aaron is very experienced, knowledgeable and personable, and we would highly recommend him". - Laura Darlaston (Parent/Online Student)

"I have been a student of Aaron’s now for approx 6 months, in this time my progression has come in leaps and bounds. I’m 64 yrs old, Aaron is a tutor that makes you feel at ease where there is no pressure and no rush. You will achieve your goals and you always come away feeling you have achieved something from the lesson. If you want to learn to play guitar then Aaron’s your man. 🎸 PS He makes great coffee!!" - Dave Ball (Bristol, UK)
